Witchy Ways to Celebrate Valentines Day: 3 Ideas to Get You Inspired

Love, romance, and sex is always a hot topic in February! Many may think that it is a month of solely romance, but it is also a powerful season for transitions as we slowly move out of winter and into spring. Celebrating the last few chilly months and cozy days sipping tonics and wearing fuzzy socks.

As we approach Valentine's day, I thought it would be fun to explore ways to celebrate either yourself or your beloved. As this hallmark holiday seems to always come with a mixed bag of emotions, I invite you to feel inspired to ignite a sacred flame of love into your love life.

Let us explore a few witchy ways to celebrate Valentine's day.

1. Brew an Aphrodisiac love tonic:

Anyone who knows me well, knows I am always brewing up elixirs and potions in my kitchen. Mixing herbs and blending powders feeds a creative need for me and I always feel so good sipping on my concoction. This love tonic has many benefits including activating the root chakra system and boosting your libido! Cacao is an ancient tradition that is used to activate and open up the heart. May be used for healing, intimacy with your partner, or opening up new pathways of communication in you relationship.

1 tbsp Cacao powder

1/4 tsp Maca

1/4 tsp Ashwagandha

Dash of Cayenne, Cinnamon, and Ginger

1 Tbsp Ghee or Coconut Oil

1-2 cups of Coconut, Almond, or Hemp milk

Heat milk of choice in a pot on the stove on low until hot (about 2minutes).

Pour milk + all ingredients into a blender

Set an intention to all the herbs, sip, and enjoy!

2. Take a Ritual Bath

Bath rituals actually originated from the Roman times when bathing was considered a sacred act and could even be a spiritual experience. In today's modern world, we don't tend to see bathing as a sacred practice, but us Witches have found a way to bring back the magick!

Create intimacy with yourself or your beloved by submerging into a warm luxurious bath filled with salts and essential oils. Ritual baths are something I have begun to fully spoil myself almost daily and I don't skimp out on the bath bombs, herbs, and crystals. Not only is a bath relaxing and romantic, it has many benefits to the body to relieve aches and pains or even clear your auric field. Not to mention, create a sacred space for you and your partner to wash each other and perhaps include some foreplay! Generally, I like to begin by gathering everything I will need to put into my ritual bath. In this case, we will create a romantic rose quartz salt bath.

What you will need:

Rose petals

1/2 cups Pink Himalayan sea salt

4 drops Rose Essential oil

4 drops Lavender Essential Oil

1 cup Epson Salt

1/4 cups Magnesium Flakes

Rose Quartz or Amethyst Crystals

Add all ingredients to a running bath water, decorate your tub with the rose petals and crystals. Add some candles and incense to set the mood. Bless the water with an intention that you wish to create with yourself or your partner. Let the romance begin!

3. Do a Love and Relationships Tarot or Oracle Card Spread

As witches, we love to include a form of divination into our daily lives. When is the last time you have sat down and pulled some cards with your beloved? Even if your partner isn't necessarily the spiritual type or doesn't follow the craft, just explain to him/her that it can be used as a tool to deeply explore any challenges or changes in the relationship. Ask for them to have an open mind and explain how important it is for you. You may be surprised at how healing this tool can become between the both of you when you sit down with each other and really communicate what is going on in the relationship.

Begin your reading by clearing each others energy with either sage or palo santo. Allow for each partner to clear each others field by starting from the head down to the bottom of the feet. Sit in a position facing each other and begin to eye gaze for a few minutes into the left eye, the portal to your soul. Take a few deep breathes. Knock the energy out of your card deck of choice by using your right hand. As you shuffle the cards, ask your partner what questions he/she has about the relationship. Say yours out loud as well and then spread the cards out in front of you. Each partner will pick two cards by using their left hand (receiving hand). Once you choose your cards flip them over and begin discussing.

Here is a spread for you to use to open up the discussion:

May your Valentines be filled with passion, intimacy, divination, and magick!

Blessed be,

Nixie Marie
